Outlook Mac 2011 Always Prompt For Password
Update your password in Outlook for Mac. Outlook for Office 365 for Mac Outlook 2016 for Mac Outlook 2019 for Mac More. On the Tools tab, click Accounts. In the left pane, click the account in which you want to change the password. In the right pane, enter a new password in the Password.
In the past, we’d keep trying new techs until someone fixed it at Comcast or AT&T. The issue happened again this morning and AT&T said it was Outlook not them. They wanted to charge us $180 to have a specialist resolve since it was beyond AT&T and was a so called Outlook problem. As we yelled more dropped to $49. We accepted the charge but what the new tech did was go to att.net, click into Member Center (rather than PLease sign in here), I entred the user/pass at that logon screen instead. That fixed the problem!
The only answer was to shut down Outlook completely and sort things out with the sign in program. That was never clearly understood by end users so Microsoft reworked the process for Office 365. A different program is installed for Office 365 and the old sign in program is removed.
Disabling it was the solution for me. On the client you can disable it making some changes in the registry to stop Outlook from checking: HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Microsoft Office xx Outlook AutoDiscover and create these DWORD values and setting the values to '1' 'PreferLocalXML' 'ExcludeHttpRedirect' 'ExcludeHttpsAutodiscoverDomain' 'ExcludeHttpsRootDomain” 'ExcludeScpLookup' 'ExcludeSrvLookup' 'ExcludeSrvRecord' Also disable Autodiscover on the server: Launch IIS, and stop “MSExchangeAutodiscoverAppPool” in the Application Pool. I also recommend right clicking on it and setting “Start Automatically” to False, in case you reboot your server. Holy shit, do not disable autodiscover. Ok, explain it to me a bit further then, because I have clients using Outlook 2003 (which does not have autodiscover) on Exchange 2007 and 2010. I have phones and tablets that get email and calendar without using autodiscovery. Performing the aforementioned registry hack on my own computer (outlook 2007) just now doesn't seem to make any difference in my capabilities.

Solved the problem by clicking Outlook during the few seconds after I had clicked 'No' when the message was off the screen. Then clicked Preferences, then Accounts.
Outlook is a special case. As I understand it, the sign-in assistant does not interact with Outlook. Instead, Outlook relies on its built-in ability to memorize credentials (assisted by Windows). My gut tells me something is done on the server side as well to avoid challenging Outlook very often but I don’t know that for sure. FIXES FOR PASSWORD PROMPTS In the last couple of weeks I’ve gotten more reports than usual from people being prompted repeatedly for their Office 365 passwords.
Outlook Not Asking For Password
Unbeknown to me, he changed the password not only on the AT & T webmail but somehow he did something to the Yahoo mail also (they are separate logons). So now whenever that comes up, all I do is log into the AT & T account online and then the Yahoo one. They don't seem to be in synch.

Windows internet explorer for mac. However that may well be the cause of the issue. If you have been playing around with the security settings then the only thing I can suggest is that you recreate the OWA, OAB etc virtual directories using PowerShell, which will get them back to the default state, and then leave them alone and see if the problem continues.
